What is the difference between mobile patrols and manned guarding?

Manned guarding places an officer on your site for the whole shift. Mobile patrols cover several visits during the night or weekend, often across more than one site. Patrols cost less and suit lower-risk sites; a static guard suits sites that need someone present the entire time.

How many patrol visits will my site need?

It depends on the site, the risk and the hours it is left empty. Some sites need a lock-up visit and one or two randomised checks overnight; higher-risk sites need more. We recommend a number after reviewing the site, and you can change it later.

How do I know the patrols actually happened?

Every visit is logged in Guard Track Pro. Officers scan checkpoints on site, which records GPS location, date and time, and photo evidence. Missed or late visits show up in the record.

Can mobile patrols respond to my alarm?

Yes. Patrol officers can attend alarm activations, check the building, secure it and liaise with police where needed. This is often set up alongside key holding so the officer can get inside.

How much do mobile security patrols cost?

Cost is driven by the number of visits per night, the number of sites, how long each visit takes and how far the sites are from each other. Patrols are usually far cheaper than a full-time guard. Contact us for a quote based on your site.

What Mobile Patrols Are

Security that moves between your sites

A mobile patrol is a licensed officer in a vehicle who visits your premises several times during agreed hours, rather than staying on one site for a whole shift.

On each visit the officer walks the perimeter, checks doors, windows, gates and shutters, looks for signs of forced entry or trespass, and deals with anything that is not right. Because visits happen at varying times, anyone watching the site cannot predict when the next one will come. That unpredictability is what makes patrols a deterrent.

Patrols suit sites where the risk does not justify a full-time officer, but an empty site overnight is not acceptable either. Industrial units, yards, retail parks, construction sites outside working hours, vacant buildings and businesses with several premises across one area are typical examples. One contract can cover a single site or a whole portfolio.

If you need someone present the entire time, manned guarding is the better fit. Many clients combine the two: a static officer during the busiest hours and mobile patrols overnight or at weekends. Where cameras are already in place, patrols also work well alongside remote CCTV monitoring.
